Simulation of Dispersion of Polluted Gases in Atmosphere
A computer program was developed to predict the dispersion of gas pollutant in the atmosphere. This program relies on puff method, and in order to consider the wind shear effects, the program has the ability to consider the complete dynamic and unsteady atmospheric conditions. Plume rise of hot pollutants due to buoyancy effects was also considered. The program has the capacity to perform the r...

متن کاملX-ray sources< 1 degree from Seyfert galaxies
Archived PSPC observations of 26 Seyfert galaxies have been analyzed for brightX-ray sources out to the full extent of the field (< about 50′). Of all Seyferts known this represents a sample 88% complete to BT = 10 mag, 74% complete to 11 mag and 50% complete to 12 mag. Using the same reduction algorithm, 14 fields centered on stars at high galactic latitudes have been used as control fields. E...
متن کاملFor Machine Learning Special Issue on the Mathematical Foundation of Learning Algorithms
A general mathematical framework is developed for learning algorithms. A learning task belongs to either of two classes, reactive and adaptive. For the reactive tasks, learning algorithms can be analysed as statistical estimators, for which the theory of Bayesian information geometry provides a complete description. In particular, there exists ideal estimates holding all the information in the ...
متن کاملCARIN: A Representation Language Combining Horn Rules and Description Logics
We describe CARIN, a novel family of representation languages, which integrate the expressive power of Horn rules and of description logics. We address the key issue in designing such a language, namely, providing a sound and complete inference procedure. We identify existential entailment as a core problem in reasoning in CARIN, and describe an existential entailment algorithm for CARIN langua...
